Uni winners

Going Carbon Neutral Stirling has started engaging recently with various groups at Stirling University and they had a stall at the recent ReFreshers Week open day for environmental groups in the Atrium at the MacRobert building.
While there, the winning hall in the Inter-Hall Energy Reduction Competition was announced by the university’s energy management engineer David Jordan, pictured on the right of this presentation group.
There were whoops of delight when it was revealed that AK Davidson Hall were the winners with a remarkable 24 per cent decrease in electricity consumption. The winning hall picked up a £1500 prize.
Student ethics and environment officer Alba Brown (pictured centre) said that the bulk of the savings were achieved through simple actions such as remembering to turn off appliances and lights.
