GCNS scoops world-class speaker

Published 29 January 2010
Chris Martenson

The growing influence of the Going Carbon Neutral Stirling programme on UK environmental issues is reflected in its ability to attract world-renowned American speaker Chris Martenson to Stirling.

During his visit to Britain, Martenson will be sharing his views on economics, energy and the environment with heads of business sectors in London and Edinburgh as well as Britain’s all-party parliamentary group on peak oil.

However, the recent launch of Stirling’s economic strategy, which was much influenced by GCNS manager Rachel Nunn, has secured Martenson’s interest in visiting Stirling. His talk to key local decision makers, from 10am to 12 noon on Friday, February 19, at the Pathfoot Lecture Theatre (A 96) at the University of Stirling, is now one of the hottest tickets in town.

A respected scientist by training, Martenson is a brilliant communicator. His presentations cut through the current confusion of contradictory information and spin, exploding myths and providing insights that illuminate our economic future.

Places are limited for the event, which has been supported by Stirling Council and Stirling University. If you would like to attend, contact Gavin Smith at gavin.smith@ksbscotland.org.uk or phone him at 01786 468761.
